Bruxism
Bruxism is also known as teeth grinding or jaw clenching and is often related to stress and anxiety. Clenching and grinding of the jaw can happen at any time during the day, but mostly happens at night when asleep. Over time Bruxism can cause jaw ache, significant wear or even fracture the teeth. Bruxism can also make the face look square due to a masseter muscle hypertrophy. TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorder can also arise from persistent Bruxism, causing jaw pain. Botox injections can play a significant part in helping relieve the pain, as well as breaking the habit of clenching in the first place too.
All treatments include an initial consultation and a review appointment after 2 weeks.
